Nipsey Hussle, a Grammy-nominated rapper, who inspired the modern generation of athletes and musicians in various ways, was murdered in broad daylight outside of his clothing shop in Los Angeles, on March 31, 2019.
He was Grammy-nominated for Best Rap Album for his first formal album, ‘Victory Lap,’ that finally dropped in February 2018 after six years of teasing, but lost out to Cardi B.
The day before his death, he was seen smiling, posing and greeting people at a March Madness basketball game. On Saturday, the 33-year-old attended the West Regional NCAA March Madness basketball elite 8 game between Texas Tech and Gonzaga in Anaheim, California, and the next day, he was executed outside his clothing store.
Hussle was a former gangster who turned rapper and entrepreneur and was due to sit down with the LAPD in the coming weeks to discuss gang violence and possible ways to prevent it.
He was shot multiple times and was pronounced dead after being rushed to the hospital. The two other men who were with him were in stable conditions. Eyewitnesses saw a man fleeing in a vehicle after the shooting.
Just moments before he was murdered, he had tweeted: ‘Having strong enemies is a blessing.’
At the time, he was working on a documentary following the life of Dr. Sebi or Alfredo Darrington Bowman, and his alleged cures for cancer and AIDS, and numerous people believe that the documentary was a factor in his murder.
The documentary followed the 1985 court trial in which Dr. Sebi proved he had a cure for AIDS, and allegedly contained evidence that the government assisted in Dr. Sebi’s death.
TFTP found a Facebook post that also hinted at the fact that people may be coming after Hussle, whose real name was Ermias Ashgedom, for his work.
The musician has recently become interested in technology and community development and became a part of a team of artists and entrepreneurs who developed Destination Crenshaw, an open-air museum devoted to honoring African-American artistic achievement.
He had also become a fan of the work of Dr. Sebi, a controversial figure who many believed was a threat to the multibillion-dollar medical industry that needs chronic sickness in order to profit. His death was highly controversial and numerous people consider it done as a way to take him out for his work in allegedly curing AIDS and cancer.
Dr. Sebi was arrested at Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport in Honduras for carrying some $37,000 in cash on May 28, 2016, and was released pending a court hearing.
Yet, he was arrested again on June 3 by the Ministerio Público, Honduras’ version of the FBI, and charged with money laundering. He remained in custody until August 6, when he was rushed to a local hospital reportedly suffering from pneumonia complications. Dr. Sebi died en route, at the age of 82.
He was not a licensed physician, but he used all natural remedies, formulas, tonics, and supplements to treat his patients. He maintained that food was alkaline for the body and that dead foods destroyed the natural ability of the body to heal itself.
He recommended a strict vegan diet, free of foods he considered toxic, like alcohol, sugar, iodized salt, meat, poultry, seafood. He believed that as soon as one replaces them with fresh fruit, vegetables, healthy grains, and nut butter, the body restores its healing power. Dr.Sebi claimed that this regimen was the cure to cancer, AIDS, diabetes, and blindness.
Last year, Hussle spoke about the documentary on Dr. Sebi on the Breakfast Club radio show.
He explained that Dr. Sebi went to trial in New York since he put in the newspaper that he cured AIDS, and beat the case. Afterward, he went to federal court and beat the case again.
Namely, in 1985, this doctor was running ads in several publications that claimed that “AIDS has been cured”, and he was warned by the New York State attorney to stop the ads, so he decided to go court.
There, he claimed that he had cured all his patients, and the judge asked him to bring just one of those patients in as evidence. Dr. Sebi brought in 77 of his healed patients and won the case.
Unfortunately, his accomplishments were never celebrated. The late pop star Michael Jackson was one of his patients as well, and he took him down to Washington D.C. to meet with Black Congressman, but they again received zero support.
Hussle explained that his story is very important, and it is just not normal that people do not become interested in his work, even though he has proven it on the court.
However, if his work was real indeed, Hussle’s documentary could have single-handedly been responsible for bringing down the medical industrial complex, leading to massive financial losses and imprisonment of CEOs, and government officials.
Additionally, the rapper had enemies in the financial world as well, due to the fact that he was an outspoken advocate for cryptocurrency and was instrumental in raising awareness for it.
Unfortunately, his documentary will never see the light of the day, and his death will probably remain a mystery.
